Joe Lieberman owes an apology to Ned Lamont for lying about him during the 2006 campaign. The FBI also owes Lamont an apology for discovering the truth before the election, but NOT telling the public that Lieberman was lying.
If you haven't heard of this one, Lieberman's website was hosted on a cheap provider that was quickly overwhelmed in the days leading up to the election. Rather than pay for a good provider, Lieberman claimed that the website going down was a conspiracy by his opponent. He then used that claim repeatedly in ads in the days leading up to the election, making it seem to the non-technical that Lamont was pulling a dirty trick. The FBI discovered the truth before the election, but the information was not released until now. Lieberman won the election, partly because of his lies.
