Gee, Now Why Would He Do That?

Bush Administration fires US Attorneys for no reason, then uses the "Patriot Act" to appoint new attorneys more to their liking.

Shrubya continues to damage this country. He should be impeached NOW, along with his entire corrupt war-profiteering cabinet, and the lot of them thrown in prison for the rest of their lives.

Nothing to Blog About...

I haven't written much here lately, sorry. I guess I'm waiting for the Democrats to outrage me enough that I start ranting about them. Kinda hard to do when my outrage-o-meter has been broken by the last few years of farce masquerading as government.

As you no doubt know, this isn't solely a political blog, either, so at some point I might start talking about other stuff. Like the TiVo we just got. Or watching the Olympics on the TiVo, as this is definitely my Olympics blog. Or urging you to put Eric's e-mail address in if you order TiVo, so we can get an upgrade for our TiVo (tiktok at eskimo dot com, if you are interested).

Anyway, Eric and I will try to post stuff here every once in awhile. I just hope you aren't waiting for something amazing.

Taking on Hate Speech

People wonder why I hate the Radical Right. I don't hate conservatives, but the people who shut down Spocko for exposing Radical Right hate speech aren't really conservatives.

I tend to think that the people who go on talk radio and suggest murder ought to be put in prison for a long time, no matter what their political leanings are. But the police don't seem to be interested in taking care of these people making very real threats, so Spocko went after the advertisers. He took fair use portions of the hate speech, wrote letters to the advertisers, and asked them if they were comfortable with having their advertising linked with hate-filled rants. When advertisers started to pull out... the station went after the blogger exposing the hate, instead of stopping the death threats.

And, sadly, from what I've seen in the last few years, this is typical of the Radical Right. Instead of fixing problems, they go after the whistleblower. That's why I hate the Right. Until the pendulum swings the other way and the Left gets as bad as the Right is now, I'm going to continue to hate the Right.
